A FEW FUN FACTS ABOUT:
Mickey Mouse
- Walt Disney originally wanted to call Mickey "Mortimer Mouse" but his wife convinced him to change it. (thank goodness!)
- Walt's inspiration for Mickey was prompted by his old pet mouse he had on the farm where he grew up.
- It is said that Mickey was given large white gloves in order that the audience could distinguish his hands when in front of his body.
- Mickey Mouse is the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
